About the Author

Traci Mann, Ph.D. , is professor of psychology at the University of Minnesota and is an expert on the psychology of eating, dieting, and self-control. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the United States Department of Agriculture, and the National Aeronautics and Space Association (NASA). She lives with her husband, University of Minnesota professor of psychology Stephen Engel, and their two sons in Edina, Minnesota.

I want to start by saying that the first part of this book I found interesting because it is about manifesting, which is what I thought the whole book was about. There is nothing really new in the information provided, as it is the same information as most other Law of Attraction books, but I would give 4 stars for that section.The second part of the book is about raising your frequency through love and God. In a nutshell Linda tells us to love ourselves, others, be compassionate, be grateful and forgiving and believe in the power of God to raise our frequencies. If you are not a particularly religious person, like me, the constant reference to God may become tiring after the third or fourth chapter. I am in no way criticizing anyone who is religious, I just would have liked to have known upfront that the underlying message of the book is to raise your frequency through belief in God.At the end of the book, Linda has a section about her new book which is for women who want to become more attractive in order to find love. Through this book you will learn how to be more attractive, how to attract the man of your dreams, how to attract an actor to you and generally become a minx. Not sure how that ties into the whole religion aspect, as the subject matter seems a little superficial, if you ask me. ;)

Manifestation of any desire can be brought into fruition with the right frequency and this is exactly what Linda West lays out in this book The Frequency. I have been exploring metaphysics and the powers of the mind for some time. What I have discovered on this journey we refer to as "life" is that the right information comes to us in perfect timing. It is recognizing these synchronicities that we open the door for more magic into our lives.West details five easy steps a person can take to manifest just about anything in your life. It is all about getting on the same frequency of your desires. I am a big dreamer, so after reading her book, I took some time to do what she suggested:- Taking a closer look at my goals and dreams...are they too big? Do I really FEEL that these things could happen for me?That very question caused me to examine what my true feeling were in relation to my intentions. Secondly, I was missing a vital step that West points out in this book: getting to the highest frequency possible. What is getting into this frequency and how can one do so? West answers this questions as well in a way that is so simple, I don't know why I didn't know this from the jump.I don't want to provide any spoilers, but I know that this book has made some major changes in my mindset and I have re-tuned my frequency to manifest even the smallest things. For example, I was eagerly awaiting a package that was suppose to arrive in late November. What I did was change my feelings of anxiousness to sheer happiness about having my product sooner rather than later. Low and behold, the package arrived today! This has done nothing but encourage me even more to manifest other things into my life.This was an absolutely great read with simple steps to attaining what makes us happiest in life. But it is not in these "things" that we find happiness, but the wealth and happiness starts within ourselves. The "things" are merely that...things! As West puts it, "Like attracts like". Highly recommend to anyone who finds themselves stuck when it comes to manifestation or those who are just curious. Linda West is a genius and I am so grateful to have had the chance to read a book that has taken my frequency to a whole new level.

I study frequencies, and there are NO frequencies given in this book! This book is a general, feel good book about love and peace, both well and good, but NO technical or scientific information on actual "frequencies" or "vibrations." This book is titled incorrectly.

I know that the law of attraction is all the rage these days and many are buying into what a certain popular author is selling. I believe that there is much more to it than this and author Linda West has written a great guide to tapping into frequencies that will bring things into your life. Her latest book, aptly named "The Frequency", takes the reader through an incredible list of techniques and strategies to do just this, the most important ones taking a look at how we view the world and our circumstances. West's guide is very easy to follow and well written. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to start changing old ideas and bringing better things into their life.

So far I am only on the third chapter. But the book is crazy amazing making realize that in order to manifest something that there are three parts of you that must want that one thing you hope to manifest. I can see now why many things have not been happening for me because when I look at it from this perspective I realize that all three parts of me are not in agreement that that particular thing or person is what I need. Someone referred me to this book and I tell you what, I am so glad she did! This should be prereq reading for any law of attraction material!

This book is opening my eyes to a while new world. Everything in this book I believed before I read it but now I know how to put my beliefs into practice.

A quick read, good for a tune up if you are already knowledgeable about manifesting. If not there are books out there that would better suit you to get you on the manifesting path.

Important information here relative to co-creation. Focusing on the Law of Vibration which is a very important ingredient in the Law of Attraction which everyone is so into. Well written and invigorating to read.

Octave Mirbeau would soon rankle bourgeois sensibilities with such fin-de-siècle literary provocations as The Torture Garden (1899) and Diary of a Chambermaid (1900), but in 1892 the French anarchist and litterateur signaled the arrival of modernism with Dans le ciel (In the Sky), an emotionally arresting fictional portrait of a reclusive painter tragically undone by the vaulting, annihilative power of his own ineffable vision. Informed by the author’s active engagement with the late nineteenth-century avant garde, this obscure novel illuminates the Impressionist milieu while presenting a timeless meditation on the bond of friendship and the volatile communion between madness and art.

Originally serialized in the French literary journal L’Echo de Paris between September 1892 and May 1893, In the Sky remained unpublished until 1989 when preeminent Mirbeau scholars Jean-François Nivet and Pierre Michel edited and released the first standalone edition as an unfinished novella. Over a century after its initial publication, Mirbeau’s overlooked classic now appears in English for the first time.

The present text has been faithfully translated by the American novelist Ann Sterzinger with assistance by Mirbeau scholars Robert Ziegler and Claire Nettleton, who also contributes an introduction.
